This article will walk you through the two steps required to create a variable rate seeding prescription with VRAFY. The first step is to calculate the rates. The second step is to smooth them out. During the second step, you can also customize the rates based on variety.

Please note that these formulas are designed to work as follows:

• The corn seeding formulas will increase population where historic yield has been the highest.  
• Soybean seeding formulas will decrease population where historic yield has been the highest.
