What are Yield Potential Maps?
Think of a Yield Potential map as a Yield Goal map. Using potential maps, we can set the ground work for where we are going when it comes to yield, rather than where we've been.
How are these maps built?
We combine yield impacting layers together to create the yield potential zones. Once the zones are established, we can either look at your past yield data, or you provide us with Minimum, Maximum, and Average Yield values and we will make the map match your needs.
Layers we can use:
- Satellite Imagery
- Elevation Maps from your machines
- Past Yield Data
- Soil Type Maps
How do I get Yield Potential Maps?
Its simple! There are 2 ways to get these maps added to your account. You can call or text us at 507-800-0898, or if you'd prefer, you can fill out a service request form in the Returning Users tab on VRAFY.com
How can I use these maps?
Once in the Yield Potential Maps are created, you will see them in your Operations Center account. You will be able to use these within our Formula Rx tool on any formulas that reference yield for that specific crop. You can even use these maps as a base layer to create your own Manual Rx, which can be useful for seeding or nitrogen prescriptions.
Why would I need a Yield Potential Map?
There are many circumstances where these maps are beneficial.
- If you're growing a crop that doesn't create a yield map
- Your yield data is inconsistent or inaccurate
- Newly acquired ground that you don't have a yield history for
- Past yield data has drastic changes caused by varieties or trials
